What we collect, and why.
PocketFiling, Inc. operates pocketfiling.com and the PocketFiling diff email service. This page explains what data we collect, what we do with it, and how to ask us to remove it.
Information we collect
- Your email address, when you sign up. We use it to send filing diff emails and account messages.
- The list of tickers you choose to watch.
- Standard server logs: IP address, user agent, and timestamps for security and abuse prevention.
- Aggregate, anonymous usage analytics on the website (page views, referrers).
What we do not collect
We do not ask for or store your name, address, phone number, brokerage credentials, or any financial account information. PocketFiling has no read access to any account you hold elsewhere.
How we use your information
- To send the filing diff emails you signed up for.
- To send a small number of service messages (account changes, security notices, billing for paid plans).
- To improve coverage, fix bugs, and detect abuse.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We share your email address only with vendors who help us operate the service: an email delivery provider, a payments provider for paid plans, and our hosting and database providers. Each vendor sees only what is needed to do their job.
Cookies
The marketing site sets a small set of cookies for analytics and to remember whether you've signed in. The app uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Retention and deletion
We keep your email and watchlist while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your watchlist and email from our active systems within 30 days. Backups are purged on a 90-day rolling basis.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email blake@getpocketfiling.com from the address on file and we will respond within 30 days.
SEC filing data
The filings we summarize are public documents from SEC EDGAR. They are not personal data and are not covered by this policy.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we will email anyone with an active account at least 14 days before it takes effect. Smaller edits are reflected in the date below.
